Since Star Trek: Enterprise ended in 2005
There has not been another Star Trek series in production other than fan productions widely spread across the internet. However a group of us fans set out in late 2010 to bring an end to the absence of new Star Trek on Television.
A campaign was created under the name of Star Trek: Titan Tv Series. We started operating on Facebook in late 2010 with a goal to create a new Star Trek series continuing: The Next Generation crew storyline after the events that took place in Star Trek: Nemesis by focusing on continuing the story with commander William T Riker who was promote to captain at the end of Star Trek: Nemesis.
The series would take place in the year 2379 onwards following the missions of the USS Titan a ship mentioned but never seen in Nemesis.
However in our first year of the campaign we had less than 50 followers on our Facebook page. However some felt that the show may never get off the ground and were considering closing the campaign altogether. But we wasn’t going to go without a fight so we called for help from Paul Matthews who joined the group in 2011 within his first month of the role of Project Manager he turn a group 50 followers into a group of 1,000 and over.
Paul was able to increase the group’s web appeal because he expanded groups operations from just having a simple Facebook page to opening a YouTube channel, Twitter account and even a blog. By the time Paul had made it to December we had over 2,000 followers and growing.
In December 2011 www.StarTrekTitan.com was launched, and it open the campaign to a whole new audience
As of the 19th March 2012 Titan has 3,300 plus followers and that number is growing every hour.
